About Valerie Ward

Case Manager

I’m Valerie Ward, a Case Manager with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from UC Merced. I specialize in trauma-informed care, resource navigation, and crisis stabilization for individuals and families impacted by PTSD, depression, anxiety, and other mental health challenges. My work is grounded in evidence-based approaches that promote stability, self-empowerment, and sustainable recovery.

I provide trauma-informed case management for individuals navigating significant life transitions, connecting them to housing assistance, healthcare, benefits, counseling, and community programs. My experience spans PHP, inpatient, and sober living settings, guiding clients through multiple stages of care and helping them transition successfully to independent living. I have extensive experience supporting individuals facing complex mental health needs while building individualized, goal-oriented plans tailored to each client’s unique circumstances.

I believe growth begins when we meet people exactly where they are—emotionally, mentally, and practically—while honoring their strengths and collaborating on achievable steps forward. My client-centered, person-first approach emphasizes active listening, validation, and clear progress tracking to help clients build resilience and confidence. Clients describe me as approachable, compassionate, and reliable, and outside of work, I enjoy exploring new cities, experiencing different cultures, and spending time with loved ones.
