About Joanna Bain, M.S. LMFT
Clinical Director | ActivHealing Treatment Center
I’m Joanna Bain, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT, CA #141851) and the Clinical Director at ActivHealing Treatment Center. With over 5 years of experience in trauma-informed care, I specialize in guiding individuals, couples, and families through complex trauma, anxiety, relational wounds, and life transitions. At ActivHealing, I lead a multidisciplinary team dedicated to supporting military personnel, veterans, and first responders with evidence-based and integrative approaches to healing. My clinical practice integrates EMDR, somatic therapy, CBT, DBT, and person-centered approaches—creating a deeply personalized path to recovery for every client we serve. As Clinical Director, I oversee program development, clinical training, and treatment planning for our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and outpatient services. My focus is on creating a safe, collaborative environment where both clients and clinicians can thrive. I’m committed to ethical leadership, clinical excellence, and holistic healing that addresses mind, body, and spirit. I earned my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Phoenix and continue advanced training in trauma-informed modalities and neurobiological approaches to healing. Outside of my clinical work, I enjoy spending time with my family, hiking, swimming, kayaking, and caring for my three beloved pets. I bring the same grounding, compassionate presence into my clinical work that I value in my personal life. If you or a loved one is ready to take the next step toward healing, I invite you to connect with us at ActivHealing. We’re here to support your journey every step of the way.
